The Circular Design Workshop with HUGO BOSS and the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute brought together professionals who already think in systems, not just single products.

What made it so valuable was working hands-on with the BOSS team and C2C experts to explore real tensions:

• How do you design a jacket meant to live multiple lives?

• How do you keep brand identity when designing for disassembly and transformation?

• How do you make circular choices feel desirable - not like compromise?

This is where circular design gets both uncomfortable and exciting. It questions everything fashion was built on: selling newness, promoting ownership, moving with the seasons. It asks us to design for stories that extend beyond the moment of purchase.

My concept, BOSS CONNECTED, takes inspiration from nature's ecosystems. Like forests that link trees through underground networks, the design embeds information that connects every stakeholder.

The jacket itself becomes the information carrier - holding disassembly instructions for recyclers, repair pathways for users, and material data that enable regeneration without loss of quality.

Because in the end, we don't just need to redesign products. We need to redesign the system they live in. ♻️

Do you think circular design also means redesigning consumer desire itself?
